Elections 2009

The American Moroccan Association of Colorado invites all community members to the 2009 General Assembly meeting, on Sunday, February 15, 2009. AMACO will hold the board of directors’ elections, on the same day, to fill four board member positions. Only active AMACO members are eligible to vote for board members. Please see the AMACO board candidates' requirements bellow.

Candidates have 30 days from 12-20-08 to submit their Biography/Resume 01/20/2009
Tuesday
AMACO Board will meet to go over the candidates Bio and choose qualified candidates 01/23/2009

*New Board Members will elect the AMACO Officers 30 days later. 
*Location for the General Assembly will be determined & announced soon "Insha-Allah".  

AMACO Board Candidates initial requirements:

  1. Must be a member of AMACO in a good standing status
    as of 01-20-2009.
  2. Must agree with, accepts and adheres with the AMACO bylaws and mission.
  3. Must be in a good standing with US laws at all times.
  4. Must be willing to spend & commit few hours a week to help with AMACO tasks as needed & willing to support the effort to raise funds for the Association.
  5. Must be recommended by a member of the community or a member of the Board
  6. Preferably to have strong ties with the community and have diverse background & skills.
  7. All candidates must complete an application including a biography, picture and a letter explaining why applying for the AMACO Board position and what can he/she do for the community.
  8. All candidates’ applications must be approved by the current Board of directors.
  9. Candidates must be present at the elections.

Elections day requirements & rules:

An ad-hoc / independent committee will oversee the elections and the votes count.
